The 1440 is the long outdoor round: four distances, six ends of six arrows at each, 144 arrows for a maximum of 1440. Senior men shoot 90/70/50/30 m, senior women and Under 21 archers 70/60/50/30 m, with shorter sets down the age classes — the two longest legs are shot on the 122 cm face and the two shortest on the 80 cm. It is the most demanding round in the book simply by length: an archer draws their bow 144 times across most of a day, and the round is usually decided in the last two legs, where the face gets smaller exactly as the arms get tired. Longbow and traditional archers shoot a three-leg version of 108 arrows, and the youngest classes a single 20 m leg.
