The 70/50 m round is a single-distance format: twelve ends of six arrows, 72 arrows, maximum 720, with the distance and face set by the archer’s class. Senior and Under 21 recurve archers shoot 70 m on the 122 cm face, senior compound archers 50 m on the 80 cm, and the remaining classes step down through 60, 50, 40, 30 and 20 m — eight combinations in all, which is why the round carries two numbers in its name rather than one. The shape matches the World Archery 720 exactly, so an archer can compare a domestic result against an international one without arithmetic, and clubs can run every class on the same timetable with only the shooting line changing.
