WA 40 m (compound U15)
Under 15 compound archers shoot 40 m on the 80 cm face — the same target the senior compound round uses, moved ten metres closer. The round is twelve ends of six for 72 arrows and a maximum of 720. Matching the senior face rather than the larger 122 cm means a young compound archer learns the sight picture they will keep for the rest of their shooting, and their score stays directly readable against the 50 m round when they age up. The small face punishes a dropped bow arm quickly at this distance, so the round tends to reward archers who have their release under control over those who simply draw heavier poundage.
