WA 40 m (recurve U15)
The Under 15 recurve round moves the shooting line to 40 m and keeps everything else about the outdoor 720 intact: the 122 cm face, twelve ends of six, 72 arrows, a maximum of 720. It is the first round on the World Archery ladder where a young archer shoots a full competition distance rather than a shortened practice format, and the identical shape means the score can be compared straight across to the 60 and 70 m rounds they will move up to. Forty metres is far enough that form errors show as vertical spread rather than a wandering group, which makes it a useful diagnostic distance as well as a competitive one.
